Letter to my future slef

In 40 or 50 years from now I think we will still all remember this pandemic and what it did to the world. Everyone has pretty much been in self isolation for around 3 months now everything is now starting to reopen slowly. I am now allowed to start having baseball practice after 3 months of not playing at all. During this time I have been able to lift 2 times a day and because of that my velocity is now around 82 mph. I also have been able to come closer with my family as we go on dog walks pretty much every night in the field across the street. I have been playing video games with my friends almost every night so I have gotten closer with them. During this time I have been both grateful that none of my family members or loved ones have received. But I am also frustarated that I cannot see my friends and baseball. But I understand that no one can control it so you cannot get to upset. During the summer I am expecting to things to continue to start reopneing. I am going to beach with tw...

Essay choice

For my essay I am going to do Choice A which "Compare and Contrast the government of ancient Rome with the government of the modern-day United states." I feel like this is a good question for me because I have a good bit knowledge about how the U.S government works and functions so if I review the study guide a bit more and text I shall be able to do the same with the Ancient Rome government as well. I think question will suit me well and I will be able to get a good grade on this essay.

5/11 assignment.

Through slides 9-12 most of it discusses the rule of Tarquin and his family who is involved in it. It discusses how he gain power through enforcement as well as how his family members such as Tullia, Sextus, and Lucretia. living under his rule was not very pleasant for the Roman citizens but the citizens rebelled against the family, expelling them from Rome.  Slides 13-22 discuss how the Roman government was ran. The rule of Kings was replaced by the rule of two consuls. The common people then overthrew that rule. This can relate to our government as citizens are not always happy with who our leaders are no matter who they might be which can relate Rome as explained in the PowerPoint.

Reacting to Mr. Schicks rap

First off I just want to say thank you. Not many teachers put this much effort into class and I think its really cool that you do. I thought the rap was very interesting. It was obviously to the tune of low by flo rida. I lime how instead of the chorus repeating low, it repeated Rome. The lyrics in the beginning were a bit hard to understand but then I started to understand them. Thank you again this is really cool

twelve tables

The Twelve Tables were a big piece of Ancient Rome's government. It was a big turning point for the Plebeians mainly as they now had a written law code that had to be followed. So they no longer could be taken advantage of so heavily. These laws knows as the Twelve Tables were hung ion the forum for everyone to see and they allowed everyone to have rights and protection from law. This was a good step for Plebeians as they know had something protecting their rights.

This piece of ancient Rome architecture appears a sort of government used back in ancient Roman society. It shows their use of pillars which is so famously known to be used in Roman architecture. It also appears to have some Greek writing on the front of building. Perhaps either describing what the building is or sending a message to the citizens of ancient Rome.

To me this Greek building appears to be a sort of coliseum or place for large gatherings. It includes many columns around the entrance to make for a grand entrance. It is also elevated off the ground and requires steps to reach it which gives it an elevated look. This appears to be a worn  down Ancient Greek building that used columns as its main supports. it appears that roof is just laying on top of the columns and if the columns were to collapse the roof would as well. it appears that has already happened on the left side of the building when facing front.

1. The two types of theater performed in ancient theatre were tragedies and comedies. Tragedy was serious drama about common themes that pertained to what was going in the ancient world. The tragedy was most always about hero who had a downfall of some sort. A comedy performed in ancient times contained scenes filled with slapstick situations as well as crude humor. These comedies were often performed to provide relief to the audience in ancient times 2. Gladiator and Oresteia can be compared to each other as they both are tragedies and provide a deepened look inside one character for most of the production. They provide a developing story throughout the play and a conflict that drives the storyline. I personally enjoy Gladiator very much because it has a great battle at the end which is your typical Ancient Greece story. 3.    To me this theater appears one mainly for just watching productions. As it only has half of a bowl and the seats are extr...

assignment #8 3/30/20

I have read, analyzed, and comprehended what Mr. Schick has written on his blog for today's assignment. I feel like I have done a good job of not breaking the academic honor code and keeping my integrity throughout this stay at home period. Now that Governor Larry Hogan has just issued  stay-home directive for the state of Maryland I have finally come to realize that this may be our new reality for a good bit of time. I have used this time appreciate everything that I have in life. This time also makes me realize that a lot of other things in the world such as spots, movies, and tv shows are not necessary in life and are only secondary priorities. I also believe that I have not given into the temptation to lack off of my work and not do it well. I wake every morning and get y work every day before 4 o clock which allows me to have free time after my work just like it would be after a school day and I would have baseball practice. In conclusion, I believe I have taken this break wel...

assignment #7 3/26/20

The plague that struck Athens during the Peloponnesian war can be compared very similarly to the coronavirus outbreak that is occurring today. The plague came out of nowhere and took a turn for the worst causing Athens to have shutdown their city and take half -hearted attempts to continue fighting the war. And today the world is pretty much shutdown and society and economic worth is quickly declining. Another similarity between the two is that both of the outbreaks effected people of great fame. The plague outbreak in Athens caused many of their leaders to receive the sickness. And while today our leaders do not have it. many notable figures have received such as NBA athletes and NFL coaches. When that happens the significance of the virus really hits you, that anyone could harmed by it.
